最近フィルムで撮っています。銀塩プリント専門のギャラリーで個展を開かせてもらうための資料作り、というのが理由ですが、それはきっかけに過ぎないかもしれません。やはりフィルムで撮りたい、印画紙に焼きたい、という欲求は残っているのです。

「道楽に過ぎない」という意見もあります。そうかもしれません。でも、私にとっては写真そのものが道楽。であればそれを突き詰めたい、と望むのもある意味自然な欲求ではないでしょうか。

フィルム、印画紙、薬剤の異様な高騰によって、フィルムで創作するのは異常、という見方も増えています。デジタルがこれほど普及したためですが、逆を言えば、デジタルの普及によってフィルム写真の価値はどんどん上がっています。いまだからこそ、フィルムで撮ることの本当の意味があるように思います。

フィルム、印画紙がある限り、銀塩写真にこだわりたい。その想いを強くしました。

I have been taking pictures with film recently. The reason is to create materials for holding an exhibition at a gallery specializing in silver printing. However, that may be just a trigger. I still want to take pictures with film and bake them on photographic paper.

Some people say, “It’s just a hobby.” Maybe so. But for me, the picture itself is a hobby. If so, I think it’s a natural desire to push through it.

Due to the extraordinary rise in prices of film, photographic paper, and pharmaceutical products, there is an increasing number of people who believe that creating films is abnormal. This is because of the spread of digital technology, but conversely, the value of film photography has increased steadily due to the spread of digital technology. I believe that there is a real meaning of taking films even now.

As long as there is film and photographic paper, I want to stick to silver photography. I strengthened that thought.
